Dominic Sanford, MD, (right) is on track to be a “star surgical oncologist,” according to his mentor and program director, Graham Colditz, MD, DrPH.
Sanford, a clinical fellow in the Department of Surgery, won the “Top Gun” title in the department’s laparoscopic skills competition in 2012 and 2013. He then finished third at the 2013 Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons national competition.
Sanford, who will receive a master’s degree in population health sciences, applauds the program for “truly shaping the academic surgeons and physicians of tomorrow. It has completely changed the way I think as a researcher and as a physician, and it will benefit me tremendously throughout my research career as an academic surgeon.”
