During winter break, Allie Harris helped organize a mission trip to Guatemala for third-year students in the Program in Physical Therapy at the School of Medicine.
The students treated patients of all ages, including children — Harris’ favorite. Back in St. Louis, Harris’ volunteer efforts include working with children diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She helps them participate in physical activities like sports and dance with exercises that challenge balance and coordination. Harris will be graduating with a doctorate in physical therapy.
